On 16 November 2023, Drakopoulos and React, the non-profit network committed to combating counterfeiting worldwide, hosted at Drakopoulos’ premises in Athens an Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) training event for Economic Police Officers.

Katerina Vardalaki, investigator of React’s Intelligence Unit and intelligence analyst, led the training which intended to equip Economic Police Officers with advanced skills and in-depth knowledge on the intricacies of emerging technology implemented in digital investigations.

The rapidly progressive landscape of OSINT tools calls for constant awareness on new releases and circumvention techniques to acquire information hidden from plain sight. The training covered a wide range of topics such as introduction to “thinking like an OSINT afficionado”, complex tools’ updated releases, innovative routines to effective target identification, geospatial and social intelligence, case study re-enactment with live evidence, as well as dark web tips & tricks to preserve the investigator’s safety while obtaining the necessary evidence.

Drakopoulos, partner of React in Greece, Cyprus and Albania, remains committed to empowering authorities and private stakeholders with upscale knowledge and the skills to address the challenges that the digital age poses for brand protection and Intellectual Property Rights.
