Drakopoulos successfully represented DAIMLER in court in important trademark litigation requesting the defendant, a former Mercedes-Benz Hellas distributor, to cease and desist from any and all further use of the claimant’s “MERCEDES” and “SMART” trademarks. The case involved unauthorised use of the internationally known trademarks in materials originally authorised (e.g. signage, printed material etc.) during the term of the defendant’s collaboration with the claimant. The court ordered in favor of the claimant with an additional award of moral damages. This win was important for DAIMLER, as it contributed in strengthening its global approach against trademark dilution.
