Panagiotis Drakopoulos, Drakopoulos Managing Partner and Senior Vice Chair of the International Bar Associateion (IBA) European Regional Forum, participated in the Balkan Legal Forum 2024 – The Modern Lawyer, which was organised by the IBA Law Firm Management Committee, the IBA European Regional Forum and the Legal Development Foundation in Sofia on 6-7 June.
Borislav Boyanov, Boyanov & Co Managing Partner and Founder and Co-Chair of the Balkan Legal Forum, gave the welcome address.
Topics of discussion included new technologies, sustainability, artificial intelligence, M&As, professional wellbeing, client relationship strategies and new perspectives on global legal services.
Panagiotis Drakopoulos participated as a speaker in the session entitled “What skills and competencies does the ‘modern lawyer’ need?”, moderated by Prof. Jorg Menzer, Head of the Noerr  Bucharest office and Secretary General of the IBA, where the audience had the opportunity to delve into the evolving landscape of legal practice. The discussion highlighted the essential skills and competencies required for the modern lawyer, including adaptability, technological proficiency and a client-centred approach.
