Our TMT department provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive legal and regulatory advice across the full legal and regulatory spectrum, delivering proactive solutions to mitigate risk and maximise tangible business support.

TMT clients look to Drakopoulos as a one-stop shop, providing multi-disciplinary, comprehensive advice on all matters that may arise in the course of their business. These matters often include major day-to-day issues, EMF and antenna installation issues, corporate and commercial matters, access rights, drafting of telecommunications contracts (such as colocation, network sharing agreements, FVNO, service agreements, general terms and conditions of service, equipment and software supply agreements, technology agreements, etc.), protection, liaison and lobbying with the relevant administrative authorities (EETT, Authority for Communication Security and Privacy (ADAE)).

The department advises domestic and international clients, including multinational and listed companies, telecom operators, suppliers, service providers, satellite operators, content providers and broadcasters, as well as major players in the casino and gaming industries, gaming organisations and gaming vendors.

  • We advise Softone Group of Companies on their data protection and information technology compliance strategy.
  • We advised Google on the course of implementation of the Omnibus Directive in Greece, monitoring the status of the national procedure. 
  • We advised Google with regard to their expansion plans for Google Stadia in Greece, advising on aspects related to IP and media regulation. 
  • We advised Google on its compliance with the Representative Actions Directive (EU) 2020/1828. 
  • We advised Verizon on the impact of the press publication right on its Yahoo News service, in relation to the implications in Greece. 
  • We advised Amazon Technologies by drafting a quarterly regulatory report with respect to updates in EU TMT legislation, including indicatively telecommunications, e-commerce, cybercrime and cloud computing services.
  • We advised TikTok Information Technologies with respect to regulatory compliance of their PICO Store, the online application store.
  • We advise Vodafone Group as regards local regulatory requirements on data retention.
  • We advised Warner Bros. Discovery with respect to the implementation of the Price Indication Directive in Greece.
  • We advise Incelligent with respect to the compliance of their tech products and/ or services with the provisions of TMT legislation in Greece as well as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and E-Privacy Directive.
  • We advise Wings ICT Solutions Information and  Communication Technologies with respect to the compliance of their tech products and/ or services with the provisions of TMT legislation in Greece.
  • We assisted Intracom in its participation along with major telecommunications operators Huawei Technologies and Ericsson in a set of tenders with respect to fiber optic projects.
  • We advised Facebook and Whatsapp with respect to the net-neutrality requirements and procedures applicable under the Albanian telecommunications law.
  • We advised Vivodi Telecom and On Telecoms (former major Greek telecommunications providers) on regulatory, data protection, IT, contractual, litigation, corporate, IP and other matters.
  • We acted for Voiceweb, the leading provider of voice software solutions in Greece, with respect to an indemnity matter arising out of a services contract concluded with Vodacom Tanzania in the context of a SMS promotional campaign.
  • We advised Daimler with respect to the legal requirements and possible restrictions of launching an online game, available to users through the Facebook platform.
  • We review on behalf of Reckitt Benckiser and clear dozens of TVCs, promotional campaigns, online and in-store contests along with the website content of the majority of Reckitt Benckiser’s products, including Durex, Vanish, Finish, Veet and Scholl.
  • We advised Mercedes-Benz Hellas on a series of TMT matters, including marketing, media and advertising compliance, permissible and prohibited commercial practices and unfair competition.
  • We advise Nestle as the group’s exclusive legal representatives in Romania with regard to advertising and intellectual property matters for dozens of products.
  • We advise BIC Romania with respect to their marketing strategies and presentation of their products, as well as on strategic planning and legal action against free-riders acting in unfair competition.
