Drakopoulos and React hosted a Product Identification Training seminar in Thessaloniki, Greece on 22 May, bringing together 120 customs officers from 17 regional customs departments – includingThessaloniki, Evzonoi, Ptolemaida, Doirani, Skydra, Veria, Serres, Florina, Niki, Kastoria, Drama, Komotini, Kavala, Xanthi, Kilkis, Stilida and Larissa – along with representatives from the Customs Office of Macedonia Airport, the Hellenic Police, the Municipal Police and the Hellenic Coast Guard. The event was held under the auspices of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and took place at the Municipal Hall.

The seminar addressed the issue of goods that infringe intellectual property rights. Eighteen world-renowned companies, all members of React, shared expert insights on brand protection, equipping law enforcement participants with practical tools to identify and intercept counterfeit goods on the ground.

Dr. Efthymios Chatzitheoklitos, Deputy Mayor of Financial Planning and Municipal Property, reaffirmed the commitment of the Municipality of Thessaloniki to actively supporting efforts to combat counterfeiting and protect consumers, businesses and intellectual property rights.

Michalis Kosmopoulos, Partner at Drakopoulos, described the training initiative as a further milestone in the ongoing and fruitful cooperation between brand owners and enforcement bodies, stressing that all stakeholders remain firmly committed to deepening their joint efforts in anti-counterfeiting and upholding intellectual property rights.

Mirjana Velkova of React thanked the participating authorities, underscoring the vital role that  law enforcement professionals play in safeguarding intellectual property and combating counterfeit goods – efforts that are essential for both consumer safety and brand integrity.
