We are proud to see our Managing Partner, Panagiotis Drakopoulos, chair a dynamic panel session at the IBA European Regional Forum’s conference”ESG: The Brussels Effect at a Crossroads”, which was held in Paris from 18-20 June.

Panagiotis led a lively discussion titled “The EU Omnibus Package going forward: what businesses should look out for now and in the short/medium term future”, exploring the impact of regulatory uncertainty and how companies can navigate this complex, ever-changing landscape.

Following a thought-provoking keynote address by Michael Spanos, Managing Partner at Global Sustain, on the implications of the EU Omnibus initiative and the future of ESG reporting, Pauline Kuipers, Partner at Bird & Bird, and Marco Sella, Founding Partner at Sella Torlaschi, joined the panel to share practical guidance on navigating regulatory complexity and business compliance.

The panel also addressed common pitfalls companies should avoid, strategic shifts driven by Omnibus I & II and their impact on ESG reporting obligations, how to structure ESG due diligence to meet legal requirements on human rights and environmental standards under CS3D, and the future of ESG regulatory harmonisation.

At Drakopoulos, we believe that regulatory uncertainty should not lead to inaction. Instead, it is a call for clarity, strategy and purpose. We continue to support our clients in building resilient, future-proof organisations through credible, transparent ESG practices that go beyond compliance and drive real business value.
